Program
The meeting is scheduled to start at November 18 at 10.00 and wrap up by November 19 at 16.45.
For whom?
Systematikdagarna is the yearly conference on systematics arranged by the Swedish Systematists Association. The meeting is open for anyone interested in systematics; amateurs, working systematists, and users of systematics in any form.
The conference will be held in English so that non-Scandinavian participants also can benefit from the conference.
Conference location
The conference will be held at the Conference Centre Wallenberg located at Medicinaregatan 20, Gothenburg. The connections from Gothenburg Central station are numerous and fast. The conference dinner will be served at the Gothenburg Natural History Museum after a short mingle in Botaniska, all within walking distance of each other.
Keynote speakers
- Ilia Leitch, Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew: “The remarkable genome size diversity in plants and why it matters”
- Thomas Pape, University of Copenhagen: ”How flies flourish – 250 million years of dipteran evolution”
- G. Anthony Verboom, University of Gothenburg: “The spatial dimension of diversification: a neglected topic?”
- R. Henrik Nilsson, University of Gothenburg: “What I feel taxonomy should do, that taxonomy doesn’t”
Oral and poster presentations
We hope that as many as possible will be able to give an oral or poster presentation during the conference. Oral presentations will be 10–15 minutes. When registering, please specify the title of your presentation, the author list, and a short abstract (maximum 1000 characters). Preference will be given to early career researchers if more people wish to speak than time allows
