Systematikdagarna 2020 inställda

Hej alla medlemmar i Svenska systematikföreningen.

Styrelsen har beslutat att systematikdagarna i höst tyvärr måste ställas in p.g.a. pandemin. Vi planerar att hålla mötet i Uppsala hösten 2021.

Årsmötet kommer att hållas via zoom i november. Jag återkommer med information om detta senare under hösten.

Ha en fin höst och undvik att smittas och att smitta andra.

Madrid Workshop on Statistical Phylogenetics

We are organizing the 3rd Edition of MADPHYLO: Madrid Workshop on Statistical Phylogenetics, at the Real Jardín Botánico (CSIC) in Madrid (Spain)from 10th to 20th March 2020.
The aim of the workshop is to learn the latest technical and theoretical advances on Bayesian macroevolutionary modeling and phylogenetics, and get full training in the open software RevBayes, an R-like interactive environment based on graphical model concepts for the modeling of complex evolutionary hypotheses. The instructors are the developers of the software (John Huelsenbeck, Brian Moore, Sebastian Höehna, Michael May…), so lessons and hands-on sessions will be tightly linked.

Last year edition was a success and this year it will run hand in hand with the RevBayes “hackaton”in Madrid, a biannual event funded by NSF which gathers programmers and developers to add new functions to the software. This will provide ample opportunities for applicants to interact with the programmers and set up ideas for new models.

There are still vacant sites available! Deadline for registration is 15th February. Registration fee is 400 €, this includes coffee breaks and light lunch with catering, but not accommodation. Once accepted, payment should be done before 6th March 2020.

More information and registration on the website www.madphylo.com

Thank you for your help in spreading this!

Best wishes,
